- INTRODUCTORY WORKSHOP:

The introductory workshop is suited for all levels of yidaki playing although it is beneficial to be competent with cyclic breathing. The content starts with clear explanations and practise of the individual sounds (parts of rhythms) that Jeremy uses in his playing, then it progresses into different ways in which the sounds can be put together to make different types of rhythms. Many practise rhythms are taught as part of this workshop. This workshop gives people all the resources they need to develop their own yidaki playing style. Men and women of all skill levels are welcome. Limited to 20 participants. The total duration is usually around 4 hours, but can very depending on the size of the group.

- ADVANCED WORKSHOP:

The advanced workshop is limited to people who have done the introductory workshop as the information builds on that. This workshop centres around composition and closely examines different rhythm structures. Many different practise rhythms are taught and developed as part of this workshop. There are many useful composition and listening principles taught in this workshop. These principles are very useful in refining playing techniques and style development. Both men and women are welcome. Limited to 15 participants. The total duration is usually around 3 hours, but can very depending on the size of the group.

2012 Signifies the 20th year since Si began playing the didgeridoo in 1992.

Since learning to play by spending long periods alone in the outback whilst hitchhiking around Australia Si has  developed his own style and way with this ancient instrument.

From working with Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas and touring globally with Wild Marmalade Si has been an integral part of the development of contemporary 21st centaury didgeridoo playing.

This workshop is a culmination of these 20 years of work. Si shares everything from the unique ‘duka duka’ percussive style, through trance inducing odd time signature grooves and breathing patterns and then into his most recent development the Dream Drone, a unique way of playing the didgeridoo that creates a nourishing, energising and consciousness altering sound that stimulates inner journeying and well being in the listener.

The workshop will be a 3 hour intensive.

Participants should come with an empty stomach, well rested and ready to play.

IL SUONO DELLE CONCHIGLIE
La conchiglia è usata come strumento a fiato da innumerevoli popoli in varie parti del mondo.
Antonio Coatti sviluppa da anni progetti artistici originali basati su loro suono, spesso in collaborazione con valenti suonatori di didjeridoo.
In questo workshop introduttivo verranno trasmessse le tecniche basilari per usare le conchiglie come strumento musicale, con un approccio piuttosto immediato per chi già suona il didjeridoo.

Prosad is an international musician, composer and well known sitar player. He has toured Canada, India, New Zealand and Australia performing in a variety of venues including music festivals, concert halls, clubs and yoga centres. Prosad has played sitar for Prince Edward of the United Kingdom and been the featured soloist in an orchestral concerto. He also recorded with Australian artist Xavier Rudd on his new album, Spirit Bird. With multiple songs in Hollywood movies, Prosad’s fusion style sitar music is catching attention in Hollywood and beyond. His fan base ranges from Australia and New Zealand to Europe, North America and India. Prosad’s first sitar teacher was Shambhu Das; Ravi Shankar’s senior disciple and George Harrison’s first sitar teacher. Since then Prosad has studied sitar in Toronto and India and is currently studying Indian music with Alam Khan, son of the legendary Ali Akbar Khan Sahib. Prosad has recorded four albums of original music and is currently working on a fifth which is a blend of styles mixing dance, reggae, Trance-Sitar and world sounds. He divides his time between Canada and traveling the world performing.
